A lot of things have led me to ask this question--the culture I've grown up in, the peers I'm surrounded by, prevailing images in the media, and recently, the work I've been doing composing 43 Kisses, my latest short story--and it's really been on my mind for an incredibly long time.
Where along the way did we as a society devalue the meaning of a kiss?
I could never do that, ever, unless I was sure that the kiss meant as much to the person I was giving it to.
